The guidance on self-monitoring programs is for those who sell tobacco products and electronic cigarettes. It is intended to be a support in the trader’s work to develop a self-monitoring program for the business.
Self-monitoring program is a concept that means that a business owner must check that the business follows the rules that govern the company. For tobacco, you must send with an application for a permit for the sale of tobacco products, a notification of the sale of electronic cigarettes and refill containers and a registration of cross-border distance sales of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes.
So what do you need to do?
In order to obtain a permit for the sale of tobacco products, the municipality must first make an assessment of whether the self-inspection program is suitable for your particular business.
An application for the sale of electronic cigarettes, refill containers and a registration of cross-border distance sales is not complete without a self-inspection program having been submitted.
An assessment of the self-monitoring program must also be made in the municipality’s and the Public Health Agency’s supervision of the activities.
To make it a little easier for traders, the Swedish Public Health Agency has produced a guide on self-monitoring programs.
